In the Community

At Unitil, we believe strong communities are powered not only by energy — but by connection. As your local energy partner, we invest in the quality-of-life issues that are important to you and your neighbors. Through financial support, volunteerism, and community partnerships, we work to strengthen the places where our customers and employees live and work.

Unitil provides charitable giving and sponsorship support to eligible 501(c)(3) organizations that advance community well-being and vitality. Our focus areas include basic needs and community support, STEM education and workforce development, environmental sustainability, and community enrichment. We prioritize efforts that make a meaningful and lasting impact in our local communities.

Our employees are deeply engaged in giving back. Each year, Unitil employees participate in volunteer projects, food and essentials drives, blood drives, and local nonprofit events. Through our annual employee giving campaign, we support nonprofits across our service territories, helping meet critical community needs.

Request a Presentation: Learning About Natural Gas

Understanding natural gas — what it is, how it works, and how to use it safely — is an important part of being an informed energy customer. Unitil offers educational programs for schools, senior centers, civic organizations, and community groups to help audiences learn more about natural gas, safety practices, and energy efficiency.

Speakers are available to visit your organization for discussions or hands-on demonstrations covering

  • What natural gas is and where it comes from
  • How natural gas is delivered to homes and businesses
  • Safe use of natural gas appliances
  • Energy efficiency and conservation tips

If your school or organization is interested in scheduling a presentation, please contact us at 207.729.0420 or send us an email.
